Coimbatore was founded by the devout followers
of Sree Narayana Gurudeva

Sree Narayana Mission, Coimbatore was founded by the devout followers of Sree Narayana Gurudeva, the great social reformer of Kerala, who by his unique philosophical approach towards earthly life and sublime spirituality, gave the cardinal message of 'One Caste, One Religion, One God for Mankind for everlasting good and prosperity of humanity’.

1959

Soon after the formation in 1959, the Mission entered the field of Social Service in aid of the needy and socially backward among the masses.

Later on, the members realized that the need of the hour was more for higher education among the people, as Gurudeva had himself called upon the people to 'Liberate and progress through education.

1983

So, with the sole aim of bringing quality education especially of the Technical Stream within easy reach of one and all, the members of the Mission founded the 'Sree Narayana Guru Educational Trust' in the year 1983.

And not much later in 1984, the 'Sree Narayana Guru Institute of Technology’ was established to cater as a Polytechnic in Engineering and Industrial Trades. This institution situated in Madukkarai has since grown into a reputed technical institution, winning accolades as one of the best self-financing Polytechnic Colleges in Tamil Nadu.

1994

Later in 1994, the Trust also started an Arts and Science College named 'Sree Narayana Guru College' in K.K. Chavadi on Palakkad Main Road.

This College, with its attractive courses, too gained much reputation within a short span of 5 years since its inception. Recently the Trust has started Sree Narayana Guru Institute of Management Studies in the same campus offering the course of Masters Degree in Business Administration.

1998

Sree Narayana Mission, on its own, was all the while running a free Medical Centre in Saibaba Colony, which in the year 1998 was moved to K.K. Chavadi near Madukkarai with the idea of serving the needy masses in villages.

Now, it is proposed to have this medical centre at the premises of SNM School Kuniyamuthur. Besides, the Mission has a Prayer Hall in Saibaba Colony to hold discourses on spiritual matters and for holding functions. To commemorate the Golden Jubilee of Sree Narayana Mission in 2009, a Gurumandiram with a statue of Sree Narayana Gurudeva in it has come up within the Prayer Hall for Gurudeva devotees to pray for his blessings and spiritual guidance.

Sree Narayana Mission on its own has two Matriculation Schools, under its direct Management. Sree Narayana Mission Matriculation School, Saibaba Colony was established in 1990 with Pre-Primary classes to start with. The institution has since then grown in rapid strides to become a full-fledged Matriculation School gaining the approval of Tamil Nadu Government. It has classes from LKG to 10th Standard. The school is housed in a four storeyed building in Saibaba Colony, adjacent to the Mission Prayer Hall. The school successfully completed 32 years. Success comes
to those
who work hard
and stay with those
who don't rest on
the laurels of
the past

We live today in a world that is so different from the one we grow up in, the one we were educated in. The world today is changing at such an accelerated rate and educators need to pause and reflect on this entire system of education. Are our Schools well equipped to prepare our children to face the challenges that the future holds?

This is the question that motivates us to go through a continuous process of reflection and hence we at Sree Narayana Mission Matriculation Higher Secondary School work at implementing a well-balanced curriculum to ensure that the children of our school will not just love their school years but truly be prepared to face life's challenges.

Aristotle once said that, “Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all.” Even as we impart education to match the advancement in the technology and globalization, we march our children ahead with ethos of moral values and principles. We endeavor constantly to install the qualities in our children. We Pride ourselves to help them grow and develop into sensitive and responsible citizens of the next generation.
